Ersta Penthouse, 2024
Interior
At the very top of Södermalm’s new landmark building overlooking Riddarfjärden, the penthouse unfolds as a quiet statement of generosity, care, and craftsmanship. The residence is rooted in a deep sense of materiality and permanence — a home conceived to endure, both aesthetically and functionally.
With a focus on long life cycles and tactile quality, the interior is built around a calm, neutral palette where every element has been carefully considered. Polished plaster walls meet custom cabinetry, pale oak floors and natural stone. Subtle contrasts in texture and tone create a sense of depth without excess.
The architecture is clean yet soft, precise yet warm. Details such as hand-brushed stainless steel in the kitchen and red limestone in the bathroom speak to a contemporary vision of luxury — one that values substance over surface.
The 150 sqm private roof terrace has been designed in collaboration with Mattias Gustafsson. The terrace is an extension of the indoor environment where details seamlessly flow into one another. A blend of low plants and taller solitary shrubs creates separation of the areas. On one end inviting to relaxation in sleek sunbeds or the jaccuzzi, and on the other end a generous social space for dining and entertaining.
As with the entire project, the penthouse interior reflects a commitment to design that lasts. Not just physically, but emotionally. It’s a space meant to be lived in, to be appreciated slowly — where quality reveals itself over time.
